Eka Mulya Astuti has journeyed through many worlds. Once a teacher, lecturer, and later writer of English textbooks used across Indonesia. She spent years guiding students in classrooms and beyond, shaping their language and opening windows to new perspectives.
Since the pandemic, her focus has turned more deeply toward art. Under the name Javaema, she has exhibited paintings that explore color and form as another language of expression. Yet, writing remains a rhythm she cannot abandon — whether in the classroom, on the canvas, or now, in these pages.
Her curiosity stretches across many fields, including Artificial Intelligence, which she approaches not as a scientist, but as a thinker and observer — reflecting on what it means for creativity, humanity, and daily life.
Eka divides her time between Malang, Indonesia, and Melbourne, Australia, carrying with her a sense of in-betweenness that shapes her vision as both writer and artist.
